I started this website to help organize Utah’s clean tech community. We have so many entrepreneurs, innovators, and companies working in this space. And yet, Utah continues to be viewed as a backwater that only cares about burning coal and driving F350s.
Utah can, and should, become the crossroads of the west for alternative energy. And there’s no reason the new green economy should pass us by when it comes to clean tech innovation.
I’ve been working on environmentally related projects for the last 10 years. My nitch is external affairs and communicating about green technology. I’ve become a particularly strong proponent of wind power, but my passion overflow for all sorts of clean tech endeavors.
My experience in this arena started from the policy side (in the Salt Lake City Mayor’s Office) and has evolved into the marketing side (as an account supervisor at Love Communications). I’ve helped brand several clean tech companies, and I’ve worked with many clean tech innovators in the USTAR Initiative. I’ve even invested in a clean tech startup. And, I even served as the on-the-ground producer for the Utah segment of an international documentary on climate change by the BBC.
I have no illusions that I’m the only person in Utah who cares about advancing the clean tech community. I’m just hoping to add my energy and skills to get us moving. I invite any and all who want to help us get the industry association started to contact me and get involved!
